Who are the tutors?
Every single one of our tutors is a current resident physician who has scored in the 90th percentile plus on USMLE and/or COMLEX.
In addition to their personal academic success. They each come with extensive experience in teaching others, often for many years in the classroom and one-on-one setting.
Tutors are trained on the Matchpal board exam success guidelines and are able to leverage their own strategies as well as our platform recommendations to customize every single student’s tutoring experience!
How are tutors assigned to students?
After signing up, every single one of our tutoring students submits an intake form in the MatchPal portal.
Our team then assigns tutors to students based on the exam they’re preparing for, their timeline, and learning styles and preferences denoted in the intake form.
All students can be expected to be paired with a tutor within 48 hours of signing up.
How are sessions structured?
Every single tutoring student starts with a rigorous introductory session where we analyze your timeline, resources, and overall approach to the exam you are preparing for, and ends with the creation of a custom study plan.
Subsequent sessions focus on refining your question taking strategy, targeted review of weak content areas, and ongoing accountability, evaluation of scores (including practice exams) as well as making any modifications, if necessary, to the study plan.
All of our tutoring is 1:1, virtual, and scheduled independently between you and your assigned tutor.
Do you tutor for COMLEX and OMM, not just USMLE?
Yes! This is a core strength of ours. We have tutors who excelled on COMLEX Levels 1, 2, and 3, and we offer dedicated OMM support, an area most tutoring services don’t cover. If you’re a DO student who wants help with both USMLE and COMLEX, we can support the full picture.
Additionally, all of our 10hr+ tutoring bundles come with free access to our OMM Bootcamp, which is a video-based review resource that includes 40+ videos and 150+ practice questions and is designed to help you excel on the OMM portion of COMLEX I,II, or III.
